Inside theAcademy

The COHR Reformer Pilates Teacher Training is 100 hours built around teaching, not memorising. Six studio days taught in person by Diana in a small group on the Reformers, with pre-learning before, self-practice alongside, and a practical assessment at the end. Students begin teaching from the first day.

Where you start

If you hold a Level 3 qualification or an equivalent anatomy background, you go straight to the pre-learning. If you do not, you add Movement Foundations to your booking. It is nine modules covering professional practice, scope of practice, and anatomy, and it adds 40 hours of study which must be completed and passed before your first studio day. It gives you the anatomical grounding the studio days are taught on top of.

In the studio

Six days across two extended weekends, each block building on the last. Time is spent on the Reformer, working through movement concepts, practising teaching, and receiving feedback as it happens. Teaching is observed and corrected in the room rather than saved for the end. Written feedback follows each weekend to work with between sessions.

Assessment

Two stages. A 30-question knowledge check on the pre-learning, passed at 70% before studio time begins. Then a final practical assessment where you teach a full class, completed in your own time within six months of your last studio day, in person or as a filmed class.

What you leave with

A House Of COHR Reformer Pilates Teacher Training Certificate of Completion, CPD recognised by EMD UK, the national governing body. The Pre-Learning and Exercise Repertoire manuals are yours to keep.

100 hours across pre-learning, six studio days, self-practice and observation, practice teaching, and final assessment. Movement Foundations adds 40 hours of study, making 140.

FAQ

QDo I need prior experience?

No. The academy is open to everyone, and your background only changes where you start.

If you hold a Level 3 qualification or an equivalent anatomy background, you join the academy directly.

If you do not, you add Movement Foundations to your booking. It is nine modules covering professional practice, scope of practice, and anatomy, studied and passed before the studio days begin. The six studio days are the same either way.

Prior Reformer class experience is strongly advised. You will also complete a set number of Reformer participation hours alongside your training, building your own movement practice as you develop your teaching.

Not sure which describes you? Tell us what you hold and we will confirm.

QHow much home study is involved?

The academy is 100 hours, with 40 hours delivered face to face across six in-person training days. The remaining hours are made up of online pre-course learning, self-practice and observation, practice teaching, and final assessment, so there is a significant independent learning element alongside the in-person weekends.

If you take Movement Foundations, its nine modules are a further 40 hours of study before the academy begins, making 140 hours in all.

QIs it all taught by Diana?

Yes. Every hour is taught by Diana in person.

QCan my studio host an academy?

Yes. Use Request A Location and we will come back to you about hosting.

Still unsure?

Send us a note and Diana will come back to you herself.
